To our partners and friends,
As reported by The Wall Street Journal, last night a Saronic Corsair located and rescued the crew of a U.S. Apache helicopter that had crashed near the Strait of Hormuz. Before being located, the crew had spent two hours in the water off the coast of Oman. An unmanned vessel found them and brought them to shore safely.
Per the WSJ report, U.S. Central Command confirmed it was the first rescue mission of its kind ever conducted at sea.
We are grateful these service members made it home. The men and women who fly missions in some of the most contested waterways in the world take on enormous personal risk in service of this country, and last night one of those crews got a second chance. That matters above everything else.
At the same time, we recognize Saronic’s historic accomplishment in developing and deploying the technology that enables these capabilities. Saronic is unmatched in terms of organizational pace and rigor, and they execute every day in pursuit of a mission that benefits us all.
Today’s accomplishment is something we won't forget and are honored to have played a small part in since 2023.
We, as a firm, celebrate the return of these service members and offer our sincere congratulations to the entire Saronic team.
Collin
